About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept sending each other screenshots of games we couldn't put down. At some point we figured we might as well write things down properly, so here we are. No studio pays us to exist, and nobody tells us what to cover.,The way it works is simple: someone on the team installs a game, plays it long enough to form a real opinion, and then writes about it in plain words. We don't trust first impressions, so most reviews come after a few evenings of actual play. If a game falls apart after the tutorial, we'll say so.,We cover every genre we can get our hands on. One week it's a slow strategy game, the next it's a fast arcade racer or a puzzle that eats a whole bus ride. Variety keeps us honest, and it keeps the site interesting for people who don't stick to a single type of game.,If you disagree with a rating, good. Tell us why. Half the fun of this project is the back-and-forth with readers who notice things we missed.
